The seas turn and thrash about with every passing storm. As Cullis McKnight leads the Company of Gilaslan to Animania, an ocean away, his cousin Ariandes prepares to begin his own adventure…

The Lake of Thrones is as unpredictable as its weather. With the rise and fall of the tides, swells of fog engulf the lake, lowering the visibility to nearly none.

"Ari, Gaelan, you scoundrels! Fashionably late as always. Come aboard you scurvy dogs," shouted Aramis from the ship's wheel.

Ariandes strolled up to the massive ship with Gaelan in tow. Crew members had already begun to haul supplies onto the ship's main deck. Just as they prepared to board, a familiar man with a peg leg and a cane approaches them.

Ari's face lit up as he sipped his drink, "Ahoy there, Dartemas! Long time no see!"

Dartemas Mantel, a former admiral, smiled,"The same to you Ariandes and Gaelan! I see you've brought your boys with you, Ari."

Ari glanced back down on the sandy coastline where his sons Gideon and Adriel were playing. "Aye, my wife wanted them to come with me. Said that seeing a new realm is a good experience for them."

"She has a point. Can't believe Aramis actually offered to fund our whole trip," added Gaelan, "This ship must've cost a fortune!"

There was a sudden crash from down the steps. A dashing man with long brown hair frowned up at them men. "A fortune? More like buying out the whole kingdom! Aramis told me he paid double for what this ship is worth!"

"Why, Killian?" asked Ari.

Killian bit into his apple, "Apparently this ship hasn't sailed outside of the lake, he knows not how it fares on the sea."

"Only Aramis would buy a lake-bound ship for a journey at sea!" growled Dartemas. "Um, looks like you're sons are bickering like old pirates again, Ari…"

Ariandes sighed, "Pardon me gentlemen…"
