            It was so foggy out this morning that I could barely find my way to work😁. For that matter, I could barely see any birds when I did get into the park. Foggy weather provides fantastic hunting conditions for predatory birds like the Cooper's hawk and one of those ferocious gals swooped in on a mixed flock of feeding songbirds. Here's what a frightened black-capped chickadee looks like when it's being hunted by a hungry Cooper's hawk. This little chickadee sat there as still as a statue for over 15 minutes before it felt safe enough to fly away.
