The Barruecos
This impressive natural environment is dominated by large granite boulders that sit on the edge of the ponds.

The natural area of Los Barruecos is located a few kilometers from the city of Cáceres, next to Malpartida de Cáceres.

This space was declared a Natural Monument in 1996 with the aim of protecting the special geology of the area, as well as the flora, fauna and archaeological remains found in Los Barruecos.

The area is part of the Cáceres peneplain, it is a relatively flat space with hardly any elevations, which is characterized by the proliferation of large granite boulders.

The name (Barruecos) comes precisely from berrueco, a berrueco is a large isolated granite rock and a berrocal is an area with a large number of berruecos (granite boulders).

This very special landscape has been used as a natural setting for series such as Game of Thrones.

And it is a perfect place to take photography because of the infinite possibilities it offers.
