An eight-car class 455 EMU (with unit 5863 leading) runs through Putney, working a Kingston Loop service and heading back into Waterloo.

The Stagecoach-owned South West Trains franchise had just two more days to run; South Western Railway (owned 70% by First Group and 30% by MTR Corporation) took over on 20th August 2017.

My plan for today had been to photograph SWT 455s (and other things), but I didn't arrive in London as early as I might have (it was a weekday, plus I'd also photographed a diverted freight at Foxton, routed that way as a result of the derailment at Ely West Jn. a few days earlier). Unfortunately, as can be seen, cloud was already rolling in and there were some heavy showers during the afternoon which meant I gave up on the photography. I've still to have a good go at the SWR 455s, and time is running out...
