Poem.

Oh, Hebridean Sea,
when did you capture me?
A long time ago I saw your silver sheen,
broken by rocky islands and a myriad of skerries.
Islands, endless islands.
Some like hyphens floating on the horizon.
Some near, some far.
Some nearly flat, some mountainous.
Some like Mull and Rum and Skye,
rippling with serrated ridges.
Mesmeric islands, timeless,
stunningly beautiful,
that dug deep into my soul.
Not like a nightmare but a dream.
Misty or clear or crowned by
vivid, golden sunsets.
I could not forget.
I had to return…… and I have many times.
And the dream carries on……!
