Common Blue Damselfly - Gemeine Becherjungfer

            Enallagma cyathigerum is a typical member of the family Coenagrionidae. It has a length of 29 - 36 mm and a wingspan of 40 - 45 mm. The species is widely distributed in Europe and temperate Asia. It also occurs in the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco. This damselfly inhabits bodies of standing water as well as slow-flowing streams.The main flight period lasts from June to August.
