Ranoidea (Litoria) wilcoxii (tadpole)

            An Eastern Stony Creek Frog, Ranoidea (Litoria) wilcoxii, tadpole from Conondale National Park, Queensland, Australia.

The "Stony Creek Frogs" are a group of four presently described species that are associated with streams and rivers along the east coast of Australia. They all have tadpoles which are well adapted to fast flowing water, and feature more streamlined bodies than pond dwelling tadpoles. The adult frogs of this group are well known for dynamic sexual dichromatism, where males turn bright yellow during times of breeding activity.
