Preparations for an exhibition

              I am setting up an exhibition at the National Trust property at Southwell next week and there is panic in the air.
The studio is full of completed and half finished items.
As this will be an installation in two separate rooms I am having to double up on some pieces.
Southwell is a purpose built workhouse and I am highlighting the plight of women who worked in the laundry.
All my work uses discarded fabric or natural materials found in gardens and lanes.
The installation is called "Sticks, stones and rags- Society's discards".
I have used pieces from my own personal collections and natural materials gathered locally or in places that have some meaning.
it's been a very emotional ride as the stories of the women have been harrowing which has had an effect on what I have created.
The daisy motif occurs throughout as it is my personal symbol for downtrodden women and again these have been gathered from meaningful locations. 
These words and image are attached to a vintage bolster case which is showing signs of wear and I hope to run this through their antique mangle with the words just emerging through the rollers
