[PRESERVED] Dorset Fire Brigade RRU 49R

            I'd hoped to have seen perhaps a fire engine at the Humber Bridge rally and, well, my hopes were well and truly satisfied by the sight of this Bedford unit, quite a long way from home by the looks of things! Recently listed as being for sale down in Christchurch around September last year, it has now appeared on the EYTCC rally circuit as quite the looker, alright. As opposed to our native Dennis appliances up here in the North, the Bedford/HCB-Angus combination of the day appears to prefer the brushed aluminium look over the classic fire engine red. Bit, ah... unusual, and very plan for its day. But in preservation, a real cracker! Does all the equipment still work, I wonder?

Now based all the way up North, by the looks of things, preserved Dorset Fire Brigade RRU 49R, a 1977 Bedford TK with HCB-Angus bodywork, is seen here about to depart from the May 2023 Humber Bridge car park car show. It does have working two-tone horns, by the way, and it proved that on it's way out!
