Enlisted at Norwich, Norfolk.
Died on Thursday 16th. August 1917, aged 24.
No known grave, commemorated on Panel 104 to 105 of the Tyne Cot Memorial, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
Z/1515 Rifleman Frank Vincent Barkway, 12th. (Service) Battalion, Rifle Brigade (The Prince Consort's Own)
The son of Benjamin and Ada Barkway of Brockdish. Brother of Ellen, Arthur and Walter, who served with the Australian Army.
Native of Weybread, Suffolk.
The 1911 census records Frank as a footman, resident with Dr. Ernest Wentworth Wade at London Road, Harleston, Norfolk.
Enlisted on 3rd. September 1914 at Rugby, Warwickshire.
Sent to France on 20th. October 1915.
Died of gunshot wounds to the chest and right arm at No.17 Casualty Clearing Station on Saterday 18th. March 1916, aged 20.
Buried in Grave: V. D. 3. at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.

Born in 1894 at Brockdish, the son of Henry and Jane Bloomfield of Thorpe Abbots, Norfolk.

Enlisted at Norwich, Norfolk.
Died in Mesopotamia on 15th. March 1917, aged 23.
Buried in Shaikh Saad Old Cemetery, Iraq. An official document dated 16th. August 1924 states that the grave, along with others, 'are now lost'

R/5761 Able Seaman Edgar Arthur Butcher, Anson Battalion, RN Division, Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.
Born on 12th. September 1884 at Brockdish, the son of Walter and Amelia Butcher of Brockdish. Husband of Agnes Butcher, nee Chilver of Brockdish, married 1911.
Joined the Army Reserve on 24th. June 1916 and entered service on 4th. August 1917. Drafted to the BEF ON 3rd. December 1917 and joined Anson Battalion on 18th. December 1917.
Died at sea as a direct result of enemy action on Sunday 24th. March 1918, aged 33.
No known grave, commemorated on Bay 1 of the Arras Memorial, Pas de Calais, France.

Killed in action at Bernafay Wood on Monday 9th. October 1916, aged 22.

Beleived to be buried in Perth Cemetery (China Wall), West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.

He was a Foundation Scholar at Marlborough and gained a Classical Exhibition at Gorville, and Caius College, Cambridge.
Killed in action at the Battle of Loos, Vermelle, France on Sunday 26th. September 1915, aged 20.
