Face à la mer (Explore 24-05-2024)

            Le site et l'emplacement de la chapelle St Samson à Landunvez étaient déjà un lieu de culte à l'époque préhistorique, un menhir, aujourd'hui disparu, situé près de la chapelle, a été longtemps vénéré. La présence d'une stèle gauloise au sud atteste un lieu sacré à l'époque celtique. Le lieu a ensuite été christianisé : deux croix en granit datant du haut Moyen Age se trouvent, à côté de la fontaine et à côté de la chapelle.

In front of the sea

The site and location of the St Samson chapel in Landunvez was already a place of worship in prehistoric times; a menhir, now disappeared, located near the chapel, was long venerated. The presence of a Gallic stele to the south attests to a sacred place in the Celtic era. The place was then Christianized: two granite crosses dating from the early Middle Ages are located next to the fountain and next to the chapel.
