Morning awakening

            Photography gives us precious moments. For me, the most gratifying ones are those when suddenly the image appears in front of you, like a gift of the moment.

This photograph was taken in Slovenia when we were traveling along a narrow forested road. Suddenly, in a curve of the road the vegetation opened to allow us to see the shocking effect of a morning awakening.

The scene combines all the elements that one would like to have in a black and white photograph, and all of them provided by nature itself.

The sun casts shadows on trees that stand out gleaming under  the sunrays, while on both sides the clouds that rise from the evaporating mist obscure a part of the landscape.

All this under a sky that seeks to be free from the domain of the clouds, moving them away from the center of the scene.

This was one of the magic moments I lived in our trip in Slovenia and one of my favourite captures.
