Well, almost full frontal. Facing northwestward.

And there it suddenly was, rising out of the river mist, in all its pseudo-Mayan splendor.

As following close-ups will show, the clinker brick used for most of the exterior began as pretty high-quality stuff—either a better grade of Chicago Common Brick or some other reddish brand that was cruelly mistreated in the kiln. The most vitrified and deformed of the lot are easy to spot. They're burnt black.

If it is Chicago Common, the base material was late-Pleistocene Wadsworth Formation till dumped in the region by the Wisconsin-episode ice sheet. The wonderfully fanciful terra-cotta, produced by the American works, was also till-derived, but it comes instead from the Lemont Formation dug on the American grounds, in what is now Crystal Lake, Illinois.
