Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) fishing

The bald eagle’s fishing techniques rely on the combination of its powerful talons and incredible eyesight. They hunt a wide variety of prey, including fish, waterfowl, small mammals, and carrion. They will perch on high branches or cliffs overlooking rivers or lakes and wait for an opportunity to strike. They then swoop down and dive into the water feet first to grab their meal when they spot prey.
