Rough-legged Hawk (Buteo lagopus) - immature, light morph

            Scanning the fields for prey. Rough-legged hawk hunts by watching from a high perch or patrolling low over ground. They are often seen hovering over fields, watching for movement below. These hawks' primary prey is small rodents, such as lemmings and voles.
