            In den 1930er Jahren ließ die deutsche Wehrmacht ein Kasernengelände von 20 Hektar errichten, um diesen als Panzer- und Reitschule zu nutzen. Mit der Niederlage des Zweiten Weltkriegs 1945, übernahmen die russischen Truppen die Kaserne und nutzen das Gelände als Mannschaftsunterkunft. Als 1989 die Mauer fiel und der Kalte Krieg ein Ende fand, verließen die Russen das Gelände. Nach 1992 wurde dieses Areal nicht mehr militärisch genutzt.
