66206 Thornaby TMD 17 06 2006

            Apologies for the poor quality of the record phot - I was using my crappy first digital camera.

66206 moves off light engine at Thornaby from the depot to Tees Yard.

66206 was built by EMD in 1999 and delivered by ship to the UK on 23 March 2000 (EMD Works No. 968702-206).

250 Class 66s were built for EWS under a lease arrangement with LC - Locomotion Capital Ltd., London (which later became Angel Trains).

The only things that have changed since then are:
1. The sale of EWS in 2007 to Deutsche Bahn (now called DB Cargo); 
2. The purchase from the lease owner of all remaining DB Cargo Class 66s in approximately 2015; and 
3. 66206 is now in DB Cargo red livery.

After over 24 years of service by December 2024, this loco is still doing its job.

They are boring to many UK rail enthusiasts 😊, but they are very reliable locos👍
