Bottlebrush study #3 of 6

            This is bottlebrush grass, Elymus hystrix (formerly Hystrix patula) in Holliday Park in Indianapolis. Although I have it on my property and have photographed it there, I’ve wanted to photograph it at Holliday Park for quite some time. It is being used in a sizeable area of native plant landscaping where there are two long rows of yellowwood trees (Cladastris kentukea) separated by a sidewalk and underplanted in dense stands of bottlebrush. I’ve always thought that this grass lends itself nicely to artsy photographic interpretations.
