With no change in the gloomy conditions, in this second shot we see Sanders recently acquired former Cardiff Bus Wright bodied Scania L94UB type number 324 - WX06 JYA about to exit School Road by making a sharp right turn onto The Street at Lessingham while operating the above service 34 short working from Bacton to Stalham.

When I arrived here I knew something was missing. Note the stone plinth to the right of shot which up until recently was the base for the Lessingham and Hempstead with Eccles Village Sign. It was removed by the owner earlier this year as the supporting post was rotten and as such a danger to the public.

Having reached this point from Bacton by way of Walcott, Ostend, Happisburgh and Happisburgh Common, the route to Stalham continues via Ingham Corner, Sea Palling, Hickling and Sutton. In Eastern Counties days the two Happisburgh timing points were designated as Upper and Lower Happisburgh. A picturesque spot which would have been even better with a bit of sunshine, but at least it isn’t raining - yet!

Delivered new to Thamesdown Transport with their fleet number 509 in March 2006, during late summer 2021, by which time Thamesdown had become part of the Go Ahead Group, it passed to Cardiff Bus where it was given fleet number 770. Initially on a temporary loan basis, while other vehicles were awaited, it subsequently became a full time member of the Cardiff Bus fleet.

As we can see, unusually 324 has not received Sanders fleet livery before entering service. The current understanding is that it will only be with them for a short while.

On this occasion my camera has picked up the electronic destination display.
