0M90 GBRF 66791 Light engine move from Crewe to Clitheroe passing Bamber Bridge Station LC and Signal box on a Frosty 21st January 2023 ©

            The massive steel gantry across the railway lines at Bamber Bridge is actually holding up the Signal Box and has been there for several years. The Box decided to start leaning towards the tracks thus becoming a danger to the rail traffic and the Signalmen who operate it, Network rail  (I believe) installed the steels as a short term measure until the operations of the Signal Box are passed onto a ROC(?) sometime in the future. Unusual I thought so I deemed a snap was in order and the GBRF Class 66 light engine move proved a good opportunity to capture 
Update April 2024... 'Flying shore scaffolding', which is erected from temporary access scaffolds built below them and work by exerting thrust on opposite walls, was put in place by Network rail opting for this type of support because it can remain in situ for up to 15 years.
