CONCERTO D'ARCHI


Nel 1448, a seguito della richiesta avanzata dal luogotenente Nicolò Savorgnano, venne iniziata la costruzione del Palazzo pubblico di Udine in cui sarebbe stato riunito il Consiglio della città. L’edifico fu realizzato in stile gotico veneziano su disegno del capodistriano Bartolomeo delle Cisterne e di Nicolò Lionello, architetto e orafo locale. Nel 1456 fu ultimato l’edificio, ma la facciata a fasce di marmo bianche e rosa fu terminata soltanto nel 1548.
Al loggiato ad archi ogivali recante la scritta “Utinum”, cinto da balaustra, si accede da tre scalinate. Il palazzo al piano superiore si apre su una finestra balconata a cinque luci trilobate intramezzate da colonnine bicolori e da due trifore.

CONCERT OF STRINGS


In 1448, following the request made by the lieutenant Nicolò Savorgnano, the construction of the public palace of Udine was begun, where the city council would meet. The building was built in Venetian Gothic style to a design by Bartolomeo delle Cisterne from Koper and Nicolò Lionello, local architect and goldsmith. The building was completed in 1456, but the facade with white and pink marble bands was only finished in 1548.
The loggia with pointed arches bearing the inscription "Utinum", surrounded by a balustrade, is accessed by three stairways. The upper floor building opens onto a balcony window with five trefoil lights interspersed with two-colored columns and two three-mullioned windows.
