Nighttime - a photo on Flickriver

Nighttime

            I made the gown and mob cap for a pattern exchange at the yahoo Ann Estelle list. To make hats for different sized dolls, just change the size of the circle.

Here is the pattern for the mob cap.

Cut two 6½” - 7” circles of fabric. The easiest way to do this is to find a bowl or saucer about the right size and draw around it.

Pin together right sides facing, placing pins at least 1½” from edge.

Sew all around edge, inserting lace between the layers.

Cut a 1” slit in the center of the lining fabric circle and turn. Iron and hand stitch the slit closed.

Sew 5/8” from the edge and again 1” from the edge.  This is the casing for the elastic.

Cut a small slit in the lining fabric between the rows of stitching to insert ¼” elastic.

Adjust elastic to fit the dolls head and stitch the ends together.
