Sharpes G84EOG, Nottingham, 2010

            After withdrawal, former West Midlands Travel, Leyland Lynx 1084, went onto see further service with Sharpes of Cropwell Bishop in Nottinghamshire. Sharpes owned a number of ex West Midlands buses for use of school's contract work.

The bus had been new to West Midlands Travel in August 1989 and was withdrawn in late 2007. Over time, many of these buses had to be rebuilt by WMT due structural and corrosion issues with the bodies. 1084 was one of those so treated.

Sharpes owned and operated 1084 from 2008 until 2010/2011, after which time it was withdrawn and scrapped. It was never repainted by Sharpes into their blue and black colours.

The picture was taken when 1084 was presented for its annual MOT and inspection at the VOSA 'Goods Vehicle Testing Station' at Watnall, Nottingham in April 2010. Unless represented for test, this was likely its last MOT. 

MOT testing stopped at Watnall in 2014. The site is still occupied by the DVSA (a government agency) for carrying out HGV driving tests, but the site is set to close.
