The Great Shearwater - a photo on Flickriver

The Great Shearwater

            Whale Cove, Digby Neck, Nova Scotia - While waiting for the whales, this Great Shearwater was not shy to come closer to the boat.  At first I did not know the identification and was very interested in this bird.  So I've done some research that night and they sometimes feed in association with whales and dolphins.   The boat was rocking and they were in the fog too, so not as sharp as I would like them to be.
