- Viewpoint is looking north-north-west from the rear of the flight deck of ANSETT WA twin-jet FOKKER F28-4000 "Fellowship" (Reg. VH-FKI) while on the way to Carnarvon via Learmonth.
- When comparing the coastline view using Google Earth Pro, the altitude readout is ~3,500 metres to get the exact same visualization & distance, with the aircraft positioned almost directly over the locality of Isseka, while tracking north-north-west to pass over the town of Northampton.
- I was often able to get an invite into the cockpits of various passenger planes by the Captains, after advising them I had served for 10 years in the Army Aviation Corps & had held a student pilot licence at one time. It was great to pass some time in the "jump seat" conversing with them & getting the best view in the house! Sadly as we all now know, getting invites up front is no longer possible. My nostalgia runs very deep for those pre-terrorist attack days.....

- I captured the original 6 images used to make up the final large composite image using a CANON EOS-1 SLR with AGFA XRS 100 35mm color negative film & a TAMRON 28-300mm AF Zoom lens.
- Unfortunately, I didn't have the exposure settings quite right at the time - the backlighting overpowered the shots, resulting in very dark instrument panel detail. Also, I had a slightly wide angle setting, which introduced all manner of undesirable edge distortion with each individual shot (making stitching the whole lot into one composite image a real nightmare), & to top it off, the pilots were moving around between a couple of the hand-panned images - thus you can see a lot of mismatching & distorted body parts in the final composite that I can't do much more with, since I'm no Rembrandt, even with Photoshop!

PROCESS INFO
- Six original 35mm color negative frames were digitized using a CANON Canoscan 8800F scanner @ 3200 dpi & 48 bit color depth.
- Significant frame matching & restoration work was undertaken to improve the over-dark, badly color-faded & edge distorted original negatives quality, using Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0.
