Church of the Spasa na gorodu (Saviour Church on the City), Yaroslavl

            Saviour Church on the City is located in Yaroslavl, Golden ring of Russia.

The church was built in 1672, it was a prototype of the church of John Chrysostom in the Korovniks, the church was dedicated. The Orthodox holiday of Origin of the Honest Trees of the Cross of the Lord, which since the end of the 14th century was called Honey or the First Rescue, but the old name of the church "Spas on the City" remained in use among the inhabitants of the city. In 1918, the church was badly damaged by artillery shelling in the days of the White Guard uprising in the city, the church was instructed to restore the famous restorer P. D. Baranovsky, it was he who managed to save the ancient frescoes. After the 30years of the last century, the church was used as a club and a warehouse. The temple was given to the faithful only in 2003
