Victoria in the morning - a photo on Flickriver

            So, apologies to my regular flickr friends for yesterdays accidental posting of a really under done shot. I took it and looked at it on the phone quickly and it looked ok, but I was then trotting for my bus. So, anyhoo, I posted it to instagram, where I am much less fussy with what I post, and accidentally posted it to flickr as well. Still, one can't be too precious, and it may grow on me, these little buggers often do. 

Now, this next bit if kinda awkward. I'm really no good at skiting unless I'm there in person and can mock myself at the same time. But I've been told in no uncertain terms by a few people around me that I need to get a little better at it if many of my plans for the next little while in my life are likely to happen. Anyhow, enough back story. The reason. Well, as I think I slightly confusingly alluded to in some comments I made on one of my shots a couple of days ago, during the week, instagram relaunched their 'suggested users' group. Now, I'd never heard of this before, but apparently when you sign up one of the stages you go through is a page or whatever of suggested users to follow. I don't remember it myself, and I'm sure many people bypass it entirely. Anyone can access it, but rarely do apparently. Well, they apparently hadn't changed it much for ages and so as part of a revamp of the app, they relaunched the list. 

They culled it to just 70 people world wide, including celebrities and other non photo types. And then amongst the remainder they decided to include me. I know, cor! And it wasn't as though I had an especially popular profile. Not ignored, but you know, much like here. A smallish group of people I interact with and random others here and there. 

Anyhow, if this is slightly awkward or rambling, my apologies, I really do find this uncomfortable, I'm actually all anxious and my heart is beating rather fast and hard at the moment. It is all quite surreal. But I am kinda pleased with myself, so you konw, yeah... Cheers.

But on to this photo. It was a stunning morning in Sydney today, and all day when the sun was out, it was a great light. And although I did alas spend most of it inside at work, I got a couple of chances to take some shots. On my way to work, between public transport and work basically. And a quick 25 minute walk around town on my lunch break. I think I got a few good 'uns. This was not quite the first good 'un of the day, but close. The way the light caught the rather huge statue, kinda plays with my sense of proportion.
