"a dreaded sunny day" - a photo on Flickriver

Inspired by my favourite stopping point on the Edinburgh to Newcastle A1 road, just before you cross the border at Berwick upon Tweed.

The last parking bay for weary travellers has a majestic view out to sea, with a small farm buidling below and wonderful fields. It always feels like you are looking out to the end of the world here. But in reality we're probably looking out to our brothers and sisters in Norway or Denmark!

I knew this location could be a potential for my abstract landscapes project, but I couldn't get those dreaded lines as straight as I wanted! I think I'm going to use my monopod from now on to help with keeping all the colour lines straight. Yes the old panning technique is one I'm enjoying but need to work away to keep the whole image straight as it becomes to complicated in PS to alter the image to get all lines straight, this image had less lines for me to worry about but still proved one too many!

Anyhow I cropped in for a square version and added some more motion blur to balance the lines more. As the song say's it was "a dreaded sunny day" which we togs seem to hate unless there are clouds or dramatic focal points, well here the view is the only thing dramatic.

Following on from yesterday's post I felt this image and it's colours reminded me of the impressionist movement, in fact if I stuck some petrol station flowers in the middle you would have a Vinnie Van Gogh! (Thanks to Banksy for that idea!). However, I may try an Easter Egg in the middle and hey presto Egg-impressionism a new movement is re born just like Jesus! Yes all faiths covered with one image!

Okay got to dash, my sister is coming today so need to tidy up and look relatively presentable!
