XA508/GN/627. Fairey Gannet T2. RN colours. Midlands Air Museum. Coventry Airport. CVT. EGBE

            On loan from the Fleet Air Arm Museum, XA508 is the only T.2 left in the world, and was in fact the first production T.2. First flown on 7th February 1955, she had a very short life being retired to ground instructional use by April 1957 and then given to the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton in September 1975, and then onward to the Midland Air Museum in 1982.

XA508 is in pretty good overall condition. As a concession to ease of maintenance and as protection from the weather, she was for many years wearing a light grey scheme rather than in the overall silver finish she would have worn in service, but the years weren't kind to the grey either so she in 2016/2017 she was repainted in a more accurate overall silver which she still wears today.
