Bath Road-allocated 47 079 'G J CHURCHWARD' drags St Philips Marsh-allocated 43 036, leading 1E91 at Bristol TM, where the 47 came off, June 27th 1987, at 1258.

            47 079 'G.J.CHURCHWARD' is seen here entering Bristol Temple Meads, dragging an HST set with 43 036 leading, which is clearly ailing.
The 47 had earlier worked 2C26, the 1115 Bristol TM - Taunton.

47 079 was one of four Class 47s that were repainted to celebrate GWR150 in 1985, two years later she is looking shabby, and has already lost her GWR coat of arms.

The HST was on 1E91 the 0800 Paignton - Newcastle. The train arrived at Bristol 75 minutes down, and left 115 mins late!.

47 079 was built at Crewe as D1664, entering service in March 1965.  She was withdrawn in July 1999, and converted to 57 009 in December 1999.  She is currently operated by West Coast Railways.

43 036 was built at Crewe, entering service in November 1976. She is currently operated by ScotRail.
