This is a view of the Watchman at Zion National Park. I shot this image in early July of 2025. I’ve held onto this photo for the last 6 months because I couldn’t get the processing right. This is the final of 6 different iterations I had of this scene.

In the past most photographers have shot this view from the Canyon Junction Bridge. One can’t legally shoot from the bridge anymore as pedestrians and photographers have been strictly banned from standing on that bridge. Park rangers now heavily enforce that ban.

I shot this from one of the bridges on the Pa’rus Trail which runs along the Virgin River. In my opinion, I think this view is the next best view, aside from standing on the Canyon Junction Bridge.

For 2026, I want to get back to my roots a little more. I started my photography journey first in landscape photography, but the last few years I’ve been mainly doing astrophotography. I want to try to get out to do landscape photography at least once a month in 2026.
