5" sprocket: overview

            This part was made of 1040 steel on Okuma Super-NURBS CNC using toolpaths designed in Mastercam. It has six thru-holes and 2-8-UNC thread hole in center. 
To make it, I used 4" Sandvik face mill, 29mm single insert drill, 1/4" solid carbide drill, 1/2 solid carbide 4-flute bullnose mill for roughing, 3/8" solid carbide 4-flute bullnose mill for finishing, Sandvik COROMILL 327 thread cutter, HSS coated 1/4" chamfering mill. Facemill and bullnose mills were cutting dry, using air blast. All other tools used through-tool coolant flow (except chamfering mill). Thickest chips were produced by 29mm drill - 0.012".
