Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Merriwa NSW - built 1900

            The first church commenced in 1850 and was consecrated in 1855 as "Holy Trinity" by William Tyrell, Lord Bishop of Newcastle. The present sandstone Church was completed in 1900.

Foundation stone records: To the glory of God - This stone was laid by - Mrs W S Wilson - June 24. 1899.

A plaque on the gate pillar records: To the glory of God - and in memory of the members of - this church who served their King - and country in Two World Wars -  1914~18    1939~45 - Dedicated by Francis - Lord Bishop of Newcastle - November 8   1953.
