Very Hippy - a photo on Flickriver

Very Hippy

            Rose hips on my Red Leaf Rose - Rosa glauca shrub. This is a "species" rose bush. Meaning this is how they are in the wild. Not grafted or hybridized. While not as showy as a modern Tea Rose, these are wonderful plants in the xeric garden as they don't need a lot of water and they are a bigger, more interesting plant than hybrid roses.

Also, I love the very deep, built in lens shade of this Canon FD 135mm f2.5 SC lens. This shot was taken later in the day and although it wasn't super bright conditions, the sun was setting behind this plant and the shade did a great job of covering the lens. The Bokeh of this lens is just wonderful. It helps create the separation that shots like this require. Behind this plant are a lot of other plants and trees that would be distracting if I was to use a smaller aperture or a lens that had a busier bokeh.
