Day 110: 20 April 2011 Explored

            Shot on iPhone 4. Our road trip has taken us to western NSW where relatives have a property. The Mckenzie family has been on this land since 1913 and Matt, my wife's cousin, is the fourth generation to farm the land. Back around Christmas they had the worst floods they can remember. Now that water has all gone and they need rain badly to plant their crop. They are also sheep farmers and you'll got a lovely meal of lamb if you turn up for lunch. For the people who live on this farm, the land is special. But they probably don't get as excited as me who ran around taking pictures everywhere. The day we arrived, the took us for a drive around some of the 33 sq km they own, and past this windmill. It was built in 1933 to pump water out of the ground and it's been going ever since, with just a few repairs over the years. To the Mackenzies, it's what keeps water coming out of their taps. To me, it was iconic and I raced throughout the long grass (um, forgot about the snakes) and dived onto the red dirt (um, forgot about the burrs) to take this.
