A shot I have wanted to do for a while and I love the way this came out. This was taken with my D3000. One to prove you can shoot portraits and do lighting with it, and two I wanted to be holding my D700 in the shot :-) The reason behind this shot is as someone doing weddings and such, you are supposed to be "hidden" in the shadows catching real moments as they unfold. So this is my take on that.

It was lit with one sb700 on the floor pointed up at a 60 deg angle and angle to only light my right half. I had another sb700 on master (no flash) camera left to fire the remote sb700 connected to the D3000 via a hotshoe cable.

You will probably be seeing a slight change in what comes on my flickr in the next few weeks. Obviously moving out of the city keeps me from getting city shots everyday, but also, I have set-up a mini "studio" at my new house with a backdrop and my light stands. This is for me to learn new lighting techniques and if anyone wants portraits done in a standard studio setting.

With that, I only bought black seamless for now, because the first shots I envisioned taking were with a black background.
