BNSF 7736 • Fullerton CA • 05/12/06

            BNSF Railway train Q-STPLAC1-07 sits on Track 2 at Basta as it waits for the afternoon "Passenger Parade," in which the dispatchers give priority to the many Amtrak and Metrolink passenger and commuter trains on Tracks 1 and 3 during the afternoon rush.  BNSF ES44DC 7736 leads a colorful consist this day, which includes Norfolk Southern Dash 9-40CWs 9169 and 9764, NREX SD50 5071 and CITX SD70M-2 142.  This Guaranteed Service Intermodal train originated in St. Paul MN, and only has about 20 miles to go – but sometimes the last 20 miles are the longest.  (Fullerton, California – May 12, 2006)
