CALA 9163 • Chadbourn NC • 10/19/08

            Carolina Southern Railroad F7A 9163 was built by the Diesel Division of General Motors of Canada, Ltd. as Canadian National 9116 in November 1952.  CN later rebuilt it into an "F7Au" and renumbered it CN 9163.  This number would stick for a while, as it was eventually sold to Waccamaw Coast Line Railroad as SCLR 9163, and then it became Carolina Southern's (CALA) 9163, and then, later still, San Luis & Rio Grande (SLRG) 9163.  And both times I've photographed this locomotive, it was front-coupled!  Argh!  (Chadbourn, North Carolina – October 19, 2008)
