MNCW 224 • New York NY • 07/01/24

            Making at stop at the Harlem-125th Street Station is what I suspect may be Metro-North train 1535, heading from New Haven, Connecticut, to New York’s Grand Central Terminal.  Or maybe not … Checking timetables there were four trains all due here within minutes of each other, and based upon this train’s seven-car length it seemed the most likely, although the lack of red-striped ConnDOT cars means I could be wrong.  (It wouldn’t be the first time!)  While the train was stopped here to unload passengers, though, I was able to confirm a few things about the locomotive, MNCW P32AC-DM 224.  According to the builder’s plates … er … stickers on the dual-mode locomotive (powered by either diesel or third-rail electric), it was built by General Electric in August 2001 (order number is 52833), and it was overhauled in January 2011.
