AMTK 33000 • McCook NE • 07/24/24

            Amtrak train 6, the eastbound California Zephyr, is only 55 minutes late this evening, arriving in McCook at 12:35 am rather than the scheduled 11:43 pm.  While it isn't that late, particularly by this summer's standards (in which the carrier's long-distance trains are usually running 5 to 8 hours late), it did push the arrival to the next day … barely.  Train 6, traveling from Emeryville CA to Chicago IL, isn't here for long, as only three passengers deboarded and two hopped on.  Perhaps so as not to disturb those sleeping, the passengers were handled on Lounge Car 33000.  (McCook, Nebraska – July 24, 2024)
