second winter of extreme cold air spreading over all of western canada, after a balmy winter when buds were starting to grow, making them vulnerable to frost kill.
The the upper winds are changing and the cold air can escape more somehow.
You can see that in the pulses of cold air that make distinct patterns in the clouds, a big puff of cold air can blow in from the mountains to our NW, and this phenomenon is also called microbursts where some field had blown over fruit trees.
I have seen the evidence of in the vineyard too, i have seen some pretty small but blown over and posts broken.
The phenomenon has caused many surprising weather all over the states, as tornadoes, heavy snow in california mountains, right now their water storage lakes are fully topped up and now they need to drain some water in anticipation of yet another snowstorm!
This also happened in europe, where sudden blasts of cold air spreads out over wide areas, after a warm period and the young buds are tender and a frost will wipe out a whole block of their flowering buds..
Climate weirding is a real thing, we see strange powerful consequences all over the world.
remember Dubai this year, and now Brazil....
Too much water makes the headlines more than local crop disasters, peoples lives are in danger, and giant repair projects will cost.
We had a heavy flooding that wiped out a major transport route with multiple sections of road and bridge gone,
