Collected slide from my collection, shows some interesting power and action at Seattle. Appears the BN 9716 was the second unit out of the North Coast Limited train and had to setout the original leader. Looks like the AMTK 338 (ex BN 9943 E8A) will be tied onto the NCL and the BN 9716. The engineer is standing in the nose door opening awaiting to assist in attaching the MU jumper cable while a couple of brakemen will make the air hose connections after coupling up. Interesting shade of green was applied to the E-unit nose and a new freight pilot was applied after the BN gave the unit to Amtrak. I was told the unit was subsequently wrecked and had the nose repair done at a Milwaukee Road shop. (more complete details unknown). All CB&Q/BN E-units had passenger pilots and now the AMTK 338 is sporting a new freight pilot and fresh (odd) green repaint. 

Also, the AMTK 338/ BN9943 was one of the first two BN E-units to receive the then New BN Green and Black Hockey Stripe paint scheme on merger day in 1970 with BN 9944.
