utrecht - de uithof campus misc (2012) 1

            Marinus Ruppert Building, formerly known as the Transitorium or Trans-1 (Sjoerd Wouda, 1961-1964): a connector-building with a nice Brutalist interior of concrete blocks.  The shallow, abstract relief sculptures (by Joop Hekman) also appear to be made entirely out of standard concrete-block types.  The wooden slats of the ceiling, zig-zagging if not quite undulating, add a subtle, if not quite Aaltonian, warmth.
