0295a Lac Inle - Les stûpas d'In Dein

            A 20 mn de pirogue depuis d’Ywama, le site de In Dein permet d’admirer un millier de stûpas datant du 14 ème au 17 ème siècle, noyés dans la végétation pour certains ou récemment restaurés comme ceux proches de la pagode qui domine les hauteurs du complexe.
Au pays du Bouddha, il n’est d’art que religieux et la notion de patrimoine telle que nous la concevons en Europe n’a guère de sens ici. Le passé et le temps n’y ont pas la même valeur qu’en Occident. Les édifices se doivent de briller de tous leurs ors en l’honneur du Bouddha et au grand dam du voyageur. C’est à coups de ciment et de peinture que sont rénovés ces édifices anciens au charme ambigu des ruines envahies par la végétation et couvertes de la patine des ans.
Les rénovations ne séduisent pas toujours l’âme occidentale ….
