Vrindavan - Radha Krishna and the Great Verma Band with its one Player in Agony!

            In the narrow lanes of Vrindavan, the Great Verma Band was leading a procession of mostly prosperous middle aged Marwari women. What they were doing, I know not. They must have come to perform some ritual of life or death as proscribed by the culturally ordained treatises of Hinduism.

The rag tag collection of brass bands in India is a phenomenon. They play most pleasant tunes like "Come September", "Tequila" etc in totally outlandish manner for weddings and for funerals and for leading such processions of pious devotion.

The interplay of the band members is revealing. The Tuba/ Euphonium horn player is glancing sideways to check out the action >>  the agonised band member or that someone is taking photos.

Your guess is as good as mine.

And what do you think is wrong with the band member in the forefront.?

Note on Photography
A large gathering is the hardest to capture specially at close quarters. This was a narrow lane and jam packed. If one has space than one can shoot design and geometric flow of uniforms but here there was no such thing possible. It was just aim and shoot at anything that moved with some interest. Luckily I managed to get that look of the horn player and the agonised face of the other band member.
