Aiden Lair

            Long abandoned and decaying lodge, built in the early 20th century by an Irishman named Michael Cronin and in use till the late 1950s. In September 1901 Vice President Theodore Roosevelt, who was staying at the Tahawus Club near Newcomb, made a stop here to change horses while hurrying to Buffalo after getting word that President William McKinley, who had been shot by an assailant a week earlier, had taken a turn for the worse. McKinley died around the time Roosevelt was at Aiden Lair. Minerva, New York.
