Getting ride for the ride down

The second with our car hire included a visit across the other side of the island to Lindos and the Ancient Acropolis.

We arrived mid morning and proceeded to climb to the Ancient Acropolis in the midday heat. Well you know what they say about mad dogs and Englishmen (and women in this case)....

We didn't take the donkey trip up or down (5 euro each way we decided could be better spent on cold drinks and nutella pancakes at the bottom!).

The Ancient Acropolis was being rebuilt in parts. I understand the concept of renovation and the idea that it is good to try and show what somewhere looked like to forthcoming generations, but it did to me seem a little odd. 

After the walk up and down, we had a wander round Lindos and navigated the narrow pathways, wandering into a couple of the shops. Bit pricer here than in Rhodes Old Town - captive market I guess.

In the late afternoon we headed down to the Main Beach and spent an hour or so sunbathing in the relative cool of the day.

In the evening we found a rooftop restaurant and ate before returning back to the hotel.
