LMS (ex LNWR) locomotive No. 5108 'Wyre' - c1923

            An old photograph of London, Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) steam locomotive No. 5108 at an unknown location.

This is in a rail enthusiast old photo album (owners name not known), the photo has no details other than "5108 Wyre".

No. 5108 'Wyre' was a 'Waterloo class' 2-4-0 engine designed by F. Webb, built at the Crewe Works and new to the London and North Western Railway (LNWR) in Jan 1896 carrying No. 1166 and the name 'Wyre'. The LNWR became part of LMS after grouping of the existing railway companies into 'the big four' in 1923, this loco being renumbered by LMS as *5108. It was withdrawn from service in Dec 1927 and (I assume) scrapped.
*  brdatabase shows "Allocated number 5108 but not taken up/not applied", although in this photo the engine is obviously carrying the number.
