A mint julep in the Northwest

            After Amtrak took over the Southern Crescent in early 1979, former Southern Railway passenger cars began showing up regularly on the Coast Starlight. On a spring day sometime in 1980, an ex-SR 10-6 sleeper was being used as a crew dorm on train 14. I took a shot of it during the station stop in Eugene.  

Sadly, at the time I was shooting Kodak 5247 film from Seattle Film Works because it was cheap. I was a college student and didn't know any better. The original slide of this image has faded to a regal pink.
