Triathletes - a photo on Flickriver

Triathletes

            Early yesterday morning I hopped on my bike and headed for Tempe Town Lake, where I knew a triathlon would be in progress. (A co-worker had told me about the event several days before. This happened, incidentally, to be the first time I had ever taken my camera with me on a bike ride, even though I have been a serious photographer for about nine years and a cyclist far longer than that.) Once I arrived and found a suitable vantage point, the only triathlon event I was able to see was the cycling, but that was the one that most interested me anyway. I pulled out my camera and began shooting away, tweaking my settings as I went along, and I managed to get some very good results even though I had never attempted this kind of photography before. (It was similar in some ways to my work with ballroom dance and baseball, but very different in others.)
